The guy at the comic shop keeps calling the Punisher a hero and it's driving me nuts

I was picking up my pull list on Tuesday and heard the clerk tell a new reader that Frank Castle is 'basically Batman but with guns.' This is the third time I've heard him say something like that, and it really misses the point of the character. How do you politely correct someone when they're giving out bad info to new fans?

Seriously? It's just a comic shop take. Let the guy have his wrong opinion.

I saw that whole thread about the comic shop take and honestly, leow90 has a point. People are writing full essays in the replies like it's a court case. It's just some guy's opinion on Spider-Man or whatever. Getting that mad over it feels like a waste of energy, you know? Letting it ruin your day seems way more serious than the take itself.

Oh come on, it's not just a "wrong opinion" when the guy's actively misleading new readers who are genuinely trying to learn! The real issue here is that someone like that is basically the gatekeeper for people who might become lifelong fans, and if they walk away thinking the Punisher is just a cool vigilante they could totally mess up the whole point of his stories. That's way different than someone having a bad take on a forum where people can push back.
