Stopped by a comic shop in Portland and watched a guy argue for 20 minutes about Silver Surfer's board
He kept insisting the board is sentient and has feelings, has anyone else run into a fan with a weirdly specific headcanon that they treat like gospel?

Did he actually get into the specifics of how the board communicates or what it wants? Like did he give examples of it making choices during fights or just say it follows Norrin around like a sad puppy? I need to know if this guy's headcanon includes the board getting jealous of other surfers or something.

Nope, he got super vague. Just kept saying the board "guides" him but never showed how. Like, does it tap him twice for left turns? Flash a neon sign saying "dodge that guy"? If the board is actually jealous, I want proof. A scene where Norrin pats another surfboard and his cosmic board starts pouting behind a cloud or something. Otherwise it's just a sad comic book boyfriends story with extra chrome.
