Spent $140 on a signed first issue of a minor Batman run and it's worth maybe $20 now
Bought it at a con in Austin last summer from a seller who hyped it up as a hidden gem, but after checking sold listings online it tanked in value, has anyone else dropped cash on a comic that just flopped on the resale market?

Spent $140 on a signed first issue" - man, same energy here. I bought a deluxe edition of a 90s X-Men annual that was supposedly "rare" for like $80 at a show. Checked eBay last month and it's selling for $12. My cat uses the signed page as a nap now. Lesson learned: don't trust the hype guy with the backward cap.

A buddy of mine got burned by the same hype @rosek44, dropped $60 on a variant cover that's now a frisbee for his dog.
