Shoutout to the guy who helped me salvage a water-damaged Silver Surfer #3 at the Portland con last month

My bag strap snapped in the rain, and the book slid right into a puddle... I was ready to just trash it, but another collector saw me and walked me through pressing it between blotter paper with some weights. Has anyone else had luck fixing a comic after something like that, or is it a lost cause once the colors run?

Wait, is that really a thing with the blotter paper and weights? Because I totally would have just thrown a soggy book in the trash, honestly. @williams90, I'm glad to hear yours turned out okay with the slow drying method, that gives me a little hope for my own clumsy moments. I'm the type who would probably drop a Perfect 10 into a puddle just by sneezing, so I love hearing about fixes like this. It's amazing what a little patience and some random household items can do for a damaged comic.

Man, that's awesome someone helped you out like that... had a similar thing happen with a copy of Daredevil #168 a few years back. Got caught in a downpour and the cover was stuck to the next page. Let it dry slowly in a cool room with some paper towels between the pages, and it actually came out okay, just a little wavy.

Oh wow, @williams90, I read that slow drying is the best way to go!
