Pro tip: found a hidden cameo in the background of a 90s X-Men issue
I was re-reading Uncanny X-Men #275 from 1991 and spotted a tiny Stan Lee head in a crowd panel that I'd never noticed in 20 years. Did you guys know about this or did I just find something obscure?

Wait, is that the issue where Stan's hiding in the crowd on the left side of the page? A buddy of mine from my old comic shop days swears he found a different hidden cameo in that same issue. He was always the guy with the magnifying glass, flipping through back issues like a detective. One night at the shop, he got super excited and showed me this tiny Wolverine head drawn into the brickwork of a building panel. I never could spot it myself, so take this with a huge grain of salt because he was known to pull jokes on people. He claimed it was a nod to the artist's inside joke, but your Stan Lee find feels more legit than my friend's story.

The thing nobody brings up is how often artists back then slipped stuff into backgrounds as a way to test if editors were actually paying attention to details. Your friend's probable prank might have been a real deep cut that only the inker would have known about.
