Overheard a guy at a con say he bags his books in the bathroom and it clicked

Last weekend at a small show in Cleveland, I heard this older collector tell his friend he bags and boards every new pick in the restroom before leaving. Not to hide them, but because the lighting there is way better than the convention floor for spotting spine ticks and corner dings. I tried it on Saturday with three $2 bin grabs and found a crease I would've totally missed under those fluorescent lights. Now I always bring a spare bag and board in my backpack. Anyone else got a weird spot they inspect books at?
