My LCS guy swore by dollar bin diving for back issues, I figured he was just getting rid of junk
Last month at my shop in Sacramento, the owner Danny told me to stop buying new floppies for a while and dig the dollar bins instead, and I almost laughed at him. I spent $12 and pulled a bunch of old X-Men and Punisher issues I'd only read about online, and the stories actually held up way better than half the stuff shipping now. I went back two weeks later and did it again, and now I've got a full short box that cost me less than four new issues at cover price. I still grab new stuff when a run is good, but Danny was right about one thing, the cheap bins aren't junk, they're just full of books people forgot. Anybody else here mostly buying back issues these days, and which runs did you end up loving that you found for a buck?
