My Japan con experience made me rethink cosplay crowds
The vibe there proved big groups can be fun, not just a hassle.

Got stuck behind a giant Gundam group at a con once, thought it would be a nightmare. But everyone was so chill and moved as a unit, it was like watching a parade. Smaller cons sometimes feel more cramped because folks just stop anywhere. Bigger crowds can actually flow better if people have that group mindset.

I've noticed that too, like in grocery stores when everyone's just doing their own thing it's chaos, but when there's a bit of order, it flows better. It's weird how a big crowd can feel less stressful if people are aware of each other. Maybe it's just me, but I see this at concerts too, where everyone moves together in a pit. I mean, it's all about shared space and not blocking paths. Idk, smaller groups might not think about the whole crowd as much.

Ever try walking in step with a crowd on a busy sidewalk? It sounds silly but it works, everyone just moves faster. I do it when the train doors open and it cuts down on that awkward shuffle. Makes you feel like part of a weird, efficient machine.
