Dropped $180 on a "mystery box" of comics at a con in Columbus and I'm still mad about it
I went to a comic con in Columbus back in March and saw a booth selling blind mystery boxes for $45 each. The sign said every box had at least one key issue and a chance at a Golden Age book, so I grabbed four of them. Got home and opened them up and it was all dollar bin stuff, like beat up 90s X-Men and some water damaged Archies with no bags or boards. Best thing in the pile was a mid grade New Mutants 87 that I could maybe sell for $30. That's $180 gone and I basically paid $45 for four random comics I could've gotten for a buck each at my local shop. Has anyone else been burned by these mystery box booths, or did I just pick the wrong table?
