DAE get torn over how much to spoil for fellow fans?

Hey everyone! I'm really into new comic releases, and I love talking about them with my friends. But here's the thing, some of my pals are slower readers or wait for trades. I would just blurt out big twists without thinking, and it caused a few arguments. Last week, I decided to make a change. I started asking before sharing any major plot points. It felt awkward at first, but guess what? My friends appreciated it so much! Now our chats are more fun because everyone is on the same page. I feel like I've grown as a fan by being more considerate. This small win made our community stronger!

Talking about spoilers reminds me of when I spoiled a game ending for my sister. She was hours from finishing it and got really upset. I felt awful and now I always ask before sharing anything major. It's made our talks about stories way better since we both get to experience the shocks. What's your go-to method for avoiding spoiler slips?

Respectfully disagree, @xena858, spoilers can be part of the fun.

Agree with you both, spoilers can be fun but only if everyone's on board. I once spoiled the big reveal in a series for my buddy who was halfway through. He gave me this look of pure betrayal, and I felt terrible. Now I make it a rule to ask "are you caught up?" before diving into plot details. Doesn't that simple question just make everything easier? It turns a potential argument into a shared moment of excitement. Honestly, learning to hold my tongue has made me enjoy stories more too.
