Wrote off those cheapo repopped trim clips for my 69 Camaro until a guy in Bakersfield proved me wrong
I figured anything under 10 bucks a bag on eBay was gonna snap the second I pushed them into the molding, so I put off finishing the rocker trim for close to a year. A guy at the Bakersfield swap meet handed me a set he pulled off a parts car and said the factory clips were junk anyway, and honestly he was right, they seated on the first try with no filing. The rubber gaskets even lined up right, which I did not expect at that price. Anyone else find a cheap part that beat the pricey stuff, or did I just get lucky with this one batch?

The rubber gaskets even lined up right" is the real tell. Repops fail at the gasket, not the clip.
