My 1967 Mustang hit 200k miles on original drivetrain and it scared me
I always figured a rebuilt engine was coming around 150k, so crossing 200,000 last month on the stock 289 in my Fairlane made me second guess every "low mileage" claim I see at shows. How many of you are actually driving yours versus just parking them?
Get a compression test and an oil sample done now so you know what shape that 289 is really in, because 200k on original parts usually means it's burning a little oil but still chugging along fine. Mine gets driven every weekend, rain or shine, and I'd trust a car with records over one that just sits and rots.
