Found out the 1964 Pontiac GTO got its name from a Ferrari rule, and it blew my mind
I was rereading a old car magazine from 1988 and it mentioned that Pontiac borrowed "Gran Turismo Omologato" straight from Ferrari's homologation cars. Apparently they just liked how it sounded and never actually raced it in a GT class. Did Pontiac ever get any pushback from Ferrari over that, or did nobody care back then?
