Am I the only one who didn't notice the odometer on my '67 Fairlane rolled past 100k until a stranger pointed it out?
I was filling up at the station off Route 9 in Howell last Saturday when a guy in a beat up Nova walked over and asked if that was original miles on my Fairlane. I told him I had no idea what he meant, then looked at the dash and saw 100,012 staring back at me. I've owned this car for 11 years and somehow never clocked that it was creeping up on six digits (guess I was too busy watching the temp gauge, which runs hot in traffic). Now I'm annoyed at myself for missing it, and also worried the rollover means I should be doing more than just oil changes and hoping for the best. What's the first thing you'd tackle on a small block that just crossed 100k with no real records?
