TIL my neighbor in Tampa spends $400 a month on a storage unit while his 2 car garage is packed to the ceiling
I say sell the junk and save the $4,800 a year, but my wife says the stuff is memories and the garage is a separate problem, so which one of us is right?

My uncle in Clearwater did the same thing for 6 years, paid like $150 a month for a unit full of stuff he never touched once. When he finally opened it up, half of it was ruined from the Florida humidity anyway, moldy boxes and a couch that smelled like a wet dog. Turns out the memories were mostly old tax papers from the 90s and a broken treadmill. Your wife has a point about the garage being a whole separate mess, but that storage bill is real money leaking out every month for stuff nobody even looks at.
