Showerthought: I finally got my uncle to stop sending me political chain emails by asking one boring question
My uncle in Phoenix sends me about 5 political forwards a week, all caps, usually about some bill or another. Instead of arguing back, I started replying with one line: "Which part of the bill says that?" It took maybe 3 exchanges over 2 weeks before he admitted he had not read the bill itself, just the email. He still sends stuff, but now it is way less and sometimes he says "not sure on this one." Has anyone found a question that works better than just ignoring them?
