PSA: The "quiet luxury" trend is just rebranded minimalism meant to sell you $900 sweaters
Last month I sat through a friend's dinner party in Austin where three people bragged about their plain grey hoodies costing more than my rent. They said it's about quality and timeless style. But I watched one of them spill salsa and panic like the hoodie was a newborn. If you want durable clothes, buy Carhartt for a fraction of the cost. The whole aesthetic just makes people feel superior for spending more on less. Has anyone else noticed this trend is just a status flex dressed up as good taste?

Did you try thrifting for those same basics first? Saved me hundreds and felt way more my style.
