PSA: I lost $90 to a 'live' online cooking class that was a bad recording
Ngl, I signed up for a 'live' pasta making class during a late night scroll. Paid $90 through a random site, then realized the Zoom link just played a 2 year old video. The instructor even said 'welcome to 2022' and I sat there with flour all over my counter. Honestly, the dough recipe was solid but the 'interactive' part was just a chat bot. Anyone else fall for a replay and get zero refund when they asked?

I heard a food blogger talking about this exact scam last month, how these "live" classes are just old recordings with a fake chat window on the side. The "welcome to 2022" part got me, I would've lost it right there. I almost signed up for a knife skills class last year that had the same setup, only caught it because the reviews mentioned the instructor's apron changed colors between videos. Sucks about the refund, most these sites are fronts or just fly by night operations, so your bank is probably the only way to get that money back. At least the dough was decent, that's a small win even if it stings.

Ugh, @kais67 nailed it, I had the same thing happen with a "live" sourdough workshop that was just a 2 year old video and I didn't catch it until the instructor mentioned a recipe contest that already ended. My bank fight took two weeks but they finally reversed it, so definitely go that route.
