Got kicked out of a city council meeting for holding a sign that said 'Please Speak Louder'
Went to the city council meeting in Aurora last Tuesday to talk about the new bike lane plan, and I got there 40 minutes early to sign up for public comment. The mic kept cutting out every 15 seconds so nobody past the third row could hear a word, and after the fifth time I just held up a little notebook page that said 'Please speak louder' because I figured it was helpful. The mayor stopped mid sentence and told me signs weren't allowed during public comment, and a security guy walked me out while some lady behind me clapped. I watched the rest on my phone in the parking lot, and honestly the audio was worse on the livestream. Has anyone else tried to say something at one of these and just gotten shut down for the dumbest reason?
