Bought a $400 chainsaw sharpener and it burned me bad

I spent $400 on a fancy electric chainsaw sharpener last spring thinking it'd save me time, but after 6 blades it threw the angles off so bad I had to trash all of them. Anyone else had better luck with the manual files over the expensive machines?

Used to swear by the expensive gadgets but that's where I came back to a simple hand file.

The fancier the tool the more parts there are to break. Its like how people buy those million blade razors and still get nicks but a straight razor works perfect if you know how to use it. Simple stuff just works. I see the same thing with people buying complex coffee machines when a $20 french press makes better coffee.
