A stranger at the bus stop in Portland made me quit defending plastic packaging

She said her family runs a recycling plant and showed me photos of what actually ends up in the bales, and after seeing that, I realized my whole 'it gets recycled anyway' argument was just me being lazy, so now I'm the annoying person who buys the glass jar even if it costs $1.50 more, has anyone else had a wake-up call from someone in the waste industry?
