Why I stopped using a French press after my daughter pointed something out
My daughter visited last month and watched me make coffee with my old French press. She asked why I was okay with drinking coffee that had grounds floating in the bottom of every cup. I had just gotten used to it over 10 years and never thought about it. Now I use a simple pour-over cone from a shop in Portland and the difference is night and day. Has anyone else switched methods after a long time and wondered why they waited so long?

Those floaty bits are actually flavor you're leaving behind.

Leave them in and you're just chewing on tea dust for the rest of the drink.

Totally agree, that fine sediment is the best part of a well steeped cup.
