TIL a coffee shop in Portland uses a special water filter for their espresso
I was at a place called Barista on Alberta Street last month and the barista told me they filter their water with a Peak Water pitcher before brewing. She said it makes the coffee taste cleaner and brings out more of the fruity notes, especially in their single-origin Ethiopian beans. Has anyone else tried a specific water filter at home and noticed a real difference?

Sounds like a lot of fuss for a cup of coffee lol. I just use tap water and my morning brew tastes fine. Maybe some people just like spending extra money on stuff like that.

Peak Water pitchers are not cheap, they run about eighty dollars. Andrew, if you think that's a lot of fuss, you should see the setup some people have. My neighbor has a three-stage filter system just for his coffee water. I tried filtered water once with a light roast and the difference was not small, it tasted like a completely different bean.

I mean, Andrew, the fuss is real because like umaanderson said, it can totally change the taste.
