Storing my beans in the fridge ruined my last batch, what did I do wrong?

I always kept my beans in a cabinet, but a buddy told me to use the fridge. I moved my new bag there last week. Now my coffee tastes weird and flat. I thought it would help them stay fresh longer. How do you store your beans to avoid this?

Yeah, fridges ruin beans with moisture, just keep them in a dark, airtight container instead.

Fridges have a weird way of killing flavor in everything lately. My freezer turned good bread into a sponge last week. Modern appliances just suck the life out of food sometimes lol.
