Question about storing coffee beans to keep them fresh
I always had my coffee beans sitting out in the open bag. They started tasting flat after just a few days. A barista friend mentioned that heat and air ruin the flavor fast. I moved them to a sealed jar in a pantry corner. Now the beans stay tasty for weeks instead of days. My cups have a much brighter and smoother taste. This small switch really made my coffee routine better.

My kitchen used to be full of stale chips and soft crackers before I bought a bunch of cheap clips for bags. It's the same idea as the coffee beans, just a tiny bit of effort to lock things up that makes a huge difference in quality. I see it with people and their phone batteries too, constantly letting them drain to zero instead of just topping up. We ignore the simple fixes right in front of us because they seem too small to matter, then wonder why stuff goes bad so fast.

Honestly, going sealed was the right move. Tbh, if you really want to go all in, think about portioning and freezing. I put a week's worth of beans in a tiny jar for the counter and freeze the rest in the bag it came in, squeezed flat. It locks in that fresh taste for months. Just thaw the bag overnight before you open it so no moisture gets in. Makes a huge difference for keeping that bright flavor.

Okay @joelbarnes, but do we really need to go that far with coffee beans? I've just kept mine in the bag on the counter and they taste fine to me (maybe my taste buds are broken, who knows). It just seems like a lot of work for something that gets used up in a week anyway.
