My pour-over setup dumped coffee grounds all over my counter this morning

I was rushing to get to work and tried to do my usual V60 brew but I forgot to put the filter in first. Just poured hot water right onto the grounds and they went everywhere. Made a huge mess on the granite and I had to clean it up with paper towels while my coffee dripped onto the floor. Has anyone else done something dumb like that when you're in a hurry?

Oh man, the "forgot the filter" move is a classic. I started keeping my filter already in the V60 on the counter so I can't miss it, it's saved me from that exact disaster a few times now.

Yeah jamienguyen's method works, I do the same thing now after pulling that trick twice.
