My friend swore by a 4-minute French press brew, and I should have listened

I always did 5 minutes because a blog said it was better, but my coffee tasted bitter. Tried his 4-minute tip this morning and it was way smoother. What's the best brew time you've found for a French press?

Honestly, I had the same thought, a slightly coarser grind fixed that for me last week.
