In my house, coffee was a pot on the stove, not a science project.
It did the job without all the measuring and timing. Do we really need all that extra stuff?

Maybe for some folks like leowest's grandpa, it's just coffee, but for others the whole ritual is the actual point.

Right? I swear some people treat their morning cup like it's a lab experiment. Next they'll be weighing the beans on a tiny little scale and timing it with a stopwatch.
