I used to be a pour over snob, now I just use a French press at 6am

For 2 years I was that guy with the gooseneck kettle and V60, timing every pour and weighing beans to the gram. Then I had a baby 8 months ago and now I just dump coarse grounds in a French press with boiling water and call it good. Am I the only one who gave up the fancy stuff because life got in the way?

The pour over life is a phase, like having a pristine white couch. Then reality hits and you're just trying to get caffeine into your face hole before the tiny human demands your soul. I went from weighing my beans on a scale to eyeballing it while holding a screaming toddler on my hip. My French press is basically a glorified coffee bucket now and I'm not sorry. The only thing I'm measuring these days is how many minutes until my kid naps again.

My French press is basically a bucket of dirt water at this point too. @umam95 is right though, it's not that deep - caffeine is caffeine regardless of how fancy you get with it.
