I finally fixed my pour over after 6 months of bad cups
I was at my kitchen counter in Austin last Tuesday, same setup I'd used since March. Kalita Wave, 20 grams of beans, water at 200 degrees. Every morning for 6 months the cup came out bitter and flat. I blamed the beans, blamed the grinder, even blamed my tap water. Then I watched a video where the guy said to bloom for 45 seconds instead of 30. I tried it that morning and the difference was night and day. The bed of grounds actually swelled up like it should and the drawdown slowed down. Has anyone else had a small timing tweak fix their whole issue? What else am I missing?
