Finally nailed pourover timing after a year of guesswork
I was at a little cafe in Portland last month and watched the barista do a 30 second bloom with a slow spiral pour. Tried it at home the next day with my V60 and got the best cup I've ever made. Anyone else have a random cafe moment that fixed your technique?

Oh man, that's such a great feeling when you finally crack it, right? I had a similar thing happen at this tiny spot in Seattle where the barista did this super slow, almost lazy pour and the aroma just hit me different. Tried replicating it at home and it totally changed my whole approach. It's funny how one little tweak can make everything click after months of guessing. Congrats on the win, that first perfect cup must've felt amazing.

Absolutely! Its like your brain finally catches up to what your hands were trying to do. I had this whole thing with water temperature once, kept thinking hotter was better until I went to this little shop in Portland where the guy just splashed it on his hand to check it and I was like wait what. So I went home and literally stuck a thermometer in the kettle and dialed it back like 10 degrees and boom, the whole cup just opened up. Its wild how one little thing can be the missing piece for months of fiddling around.
