Can we talk about that study saying light roast has less caffeine than dark?
I was at a shop in Portland last week and the barista told me she stopped drinking light roast in the afternoon because it kept her up, which seemed backwards to me since I always figured light roast = more caffeine. So I looked it up and found a 2016 study from a food science lab showing that by weight, it's mostly a wash and the difference comes down to how you scoop it, not the roast level. Has anyone else been told the opposite by a roaster and actually checked it, or am I the only one who fell for this for way too long?
