Bought a cheap coffee grinder and it cost me more than just cash

I picked up a $30 blade grinder from a big store six months ago, thinking it would be fine for my morning brew. The grind was always uneven, making my coffee taste bitter and weak at the same time. I wasted almost two full bags of good beans, about $40 worth, trying to make it work before I gave up. My friend finally told me to just get a proper burr grinder, and the difference is like night and day. I wish I had listened sooner and saved my money and those beans. Has anyone else had a bad experience with a specific piece of gear they regret buying?

I read that some cheaper blade grinders can cause exactly that problem.

Bitter and weak at the same time" is the worst combo. What kind of burr grinder did you end up getting?

Used to think it didn't matter, but that combo convinced me to get a Baratza Encore.
