The moment I realized I'd been using functions just to copy-paste code

I spent 4 months writing the same login check in every route of my Flask app, then a friend looked over my shoulder and asked why I didn't just call a helper, and that simple question made me rethink my entire setup, so has anyone else had a 'oh, that's what that's for' moment that took way too long?
