Blew $30 on a Python automation course that taught me nothing

I bought this course on Udemy during a sale, thinking it would help me automate some boring stuff at my job... turns out the guy just read the documentation out loud for 8 hours. No real projects, no examples from actual work situations. My boss asked me to fix a script that loops through Excel files and I had zero clue where to start. The free tutorials on YouTube actually helped me more in one afternoon than that whole course. Anyone else get burned by a hyped up coding course that was basically useless?

$30 for a guy reading a manual out loud, that's a steal compared to the time you wasted. YouTube University already has your degree waiting.

Honestly, did you guys see that guy on TikTok who spent $50 on a course to learn how to fold a fitted sheet? He ended up just watching a free video from a granny in Ohio, and she showed him the exact same trick in like two minutes. It’s wild how people would rather throw cash at a problem than just dig around a little on their own.

Oh MAN, @jana_ellis95 you just nailed something I've been noticing EVERYWHERE lately. People are paying for shortcuts to skip the struggle that actually teaches you the lesson. It's like everyone wants the certificate without the late nights staring at a manual and wanting to throw your laptop out the window. You can't pay someone to build the muscle memory or the patience you get from figuring it out yourself. This whole shortcut culture is making us soft, I swear.
