Visited a small shop up in Grand Rapids last week that still runs a 1980s Haas VF-0 with no issues

The owner told me he paid $18k for it used back in 2005 and it just keeps going, no complaints, has anyone else found an older machine that just refuses to die?

Good on him for keeping it running, but I wouldn't call a 2005 machine old. Real old iron from the 70s and early 80s is way more reliable than that stuff.

Question whether old iron is really that much more reliable or if it's just nostalgia talking.
