Vent: a guy on YouTube said most hobby CNCs sit under 20 hours of cut time a year
I was killing time on a machinist channel last Tuesday and the host pulled up a survey from a woodworking forum showing the average hobby machine runs under 20 hours total in a year. That hit me hard because I bought my benchtop mill thinking I would be making chips daily, and here I am two years in with maybe 15 hours on the spindle. The machine is fine, the problem is me being scared to break a $30 end mill. How many hours do you guys actually put on your machines in a normal month?
