That one Tuesday when my end mill survived a crash that should have trashed it

I was running a job on a 5-axis Haas last Tuesday and the toolpath went rogue, plunging straight into a stainless block at full feed somehow but the tool just bounced off and kept cutting like nothing happened. Has anyone else had a crash that ended up being way less disasterous than it looked?

Man, that reminds me of something crazy that happened to my buddy Dave at his shop. He was running a job on some cast iron and the machine jerked weird, his end mill smacked a hardened dowel pin that somehow got left in the vise. I swear the tool just chattered and kept going, cut through that pin like it was nothing. He finished the part, pulled it out, and the cutter looked almost perfect still. Ngl, we still joke about it being haunted or something, but your story sounds just as wild.
