Ran the same part on the old Haas and the new VF2 back to back and the finish difference was wild
We had a job on the old Haas for years and the finish always had this faint chatter in the corners that I just accepted as normal. Last week we ran the same 6061 part on the newer VF2 in the other bay and the side walls came off smooth enough that I barely had to deburr them. Turned out the difference was the way the newer machine handles corner accel, the old girl was rounding everything off by a thou or two no matter how I tuned the feed. Made me realize half the "chatter" I'd been chasing with speed and feed tweaks was the machine itself the whole time. Anyone else run into this when they moved from an older control to a newer one?
