Old timer at a machine shop swore by oil with sulfur content. I laughed it off until I tried it on my Haas last week.

The smell is worse than I expected, but the finish on this 6061 aluminum part came out way cleaner than with standard coolant. No more streaks or weird tool marks. Has anyone else made the switch and noticed a difference on stainless too?

Man I really need to try that, my stainless work has been giving me headaches lately.

Oh man that sulfur smell is no joke right? I read somewhere that the sulfur reacts with the metal to form a thin layer that basically acts like a built in lubricant. It makes sense why the finish is so clean though.
