I finally bought a proper coolant filter for my old mill and it's a game changer
Spent about $350 on a magnetic drum unit after my boss said it was a waste. My tool life has doubled in the last two months because the coolant is actually clean now. Anyone have a cheaper brand they like for a Haas VF2?

Used to think coolant filters were overkill for our shop too. Saw a guy running one and figured it was just extra work. Then my surface finish got so bad I had to try something. Put a basic screen filter on my machine and the difference was real. Not as fancy as your magnetic setup but even that cheap fix made a way bigger change than I expected.

Strongly disagree, way more machines die from neglected coolant chemistry than particulates in the mix.

Guess we all learn the hard way. My wallet still hurts from ignoring the obvious.
