Hot take: I thought the tool crib guy in Toledo was messing with me about insert torque, he was dead right
I ran CNMG inserts for 6 years and always cranked the screw down as hard as I could, never had one come loose that I knew of. Then a tool crib guy named Ray in Toledo watched me change an insert and said I was crushing the seat and he could hear it from 10 feet away. I laughed it off until the next batch of 4140 started coming out with chatter at 800 SFM and a finish that looked like a washboard. I backed off to snug plus a quarter turn and the chatter went away on the first part. Anybody else get humbled by a guy who just listens to the machine all day?
