Caught a coolant leak just before a long run on a VF-2

I was setting up a 6-hour job on our Haas VF-2 last Thursday and saw a tiny puddle under the tank. The main line fitting had cracked. I shut it down, swapped the fitting from an old parts kit, and refilled the system. Has anyone else had a coolant line fail right before a big job?

Glad you caught it. My luck is always the opposite, I find the puddle halfway through the cut. That coolant smell haunts my dreams. Good save on having that old parts kit around, mine is just a box of random bolts and regret.

Right, that "box of random bolts and regret" is too real, @abby308. I swear those boxes just collect broken dreams and stripped threads. My old parts kit is the only reason my project car even runs, it's all mismatched but it works. That coolant smell is a special kind of awful, it sticks to your clothes for days. Finding the leak before you start is a legit superpower, total save.
