Update: my rain barrel setup finally gave out after 4 seasons, and the crack was at the spigot like everybody warned me
Built a two barrel system off my downspout back in 2020 to keep the garden going through dry summers here in Boise. Last Tuesday I went out to water the tomatoes and found maybe 30 gallons of standing water under the deck, the plastic threads around the spigot had split right down the side. I drained what was left and patched it with a rubber washer and some silicone, but I'm wondering if I should just go to a metal bulkhead fitting. Anyone run into this and did the metal version actually hold up longer?
