Tried electric lawn tools instead of gas and saw a huge difference
Swapped my gas mower and trimmer for a battery-powered set last month, and my energy bill barely budged while the neighborhood got quieter. The lack of fumes alone made me wish I'd done it years ago. Has anyone else switched and noticed their air quality improve?

Oh man, totally agree! I swapped my gas trimmer for a battery one last spring and it was night and day. My neighbor actually came over to ask if I was done mowing because he didn't hear the usual roar. Plus I noticed I don't get that headache from fumes after doing the whole yard, which is honestly worth the switch alone.

I see it a bit different honestly. I tried a battery trimmer last summer and it just couldn't handle my overgrown fence line. Had to stop every 15 minutes to charge back up, then the power would drop off halfway through the battery so it was slowing down right when I needed it most. My gas trimmer fires up first pull every time and rips through blackberry vines without bogging down. Yeah it's LOUD and stinks a little, but I'm done in half the time so I'm not out there breathing fumes that long anyway.

Yeah I read somewhere that battery tech is getting better but it's still not there for the heavy stuff... my cousin has a battery trimmer and he says the same thing about the power dropping off. I think people forget that gas engines actually get stronger when they're under a load, like when you're in thick weeds. Battery ones just kind of give up and slow down, which is exactly when you need the torque the most. It's funny how the quiet doesn't matter if you have to keep stopping to charge or swap batteries...
