Shoutout to the library lady in Dayton who showed me the kill-a-watt meter checkout
I was at the Dayton main library about 6 months ago killing time before a shift and saw a little display near the front desk. Turns out you can check out a kill-a-watt meter for free with your card, just like a book. I grabbed one and tested my old chest freezer in the garage, and it was pulling about $14 a month in power for food I barely ate. That meter led me to unplug the second fridge too, and my bill dropped $22 the next cycle. I wouldn't have found any of that on my own. Does anyone know if other libraries around here lend out stuff like that? I want to see what else I've been missing.
