Serious question, has anyone else noticed how much quieter the air got during that weirdly warm January week in Chicago?

The lack of planes and the constant hum of AC units made it feel like a ghost town, and it really drove home how much noise pollution is tied to energy use. Has your area had a similar 'quiet' moment that made you think about our baseline consumption?

Remember when the power went out for three days.

My old apartment was right under the O'Hare flight path. I used to joke the constant roar was free white noise. That weird warm week, I woke up and just heard birds. Actual birds, not plane sounds. It was so quiet it felt wrong, like a switch got flipped. I never realized how much background noise I was just accepting as normal until it was gone.
