Noticed my neighborhood creek changed color after a rain garden project
I live near a small creek in Portland that used to run brown after every storm, carrying runoff from the street. About 2 years ago the city added a rain garden and bioswale at the corner, and now the water stays clear even after heavy rain. Has anyone else seen a local waterway improve after a green infrastructure project like that?

Actually bioswales mainly filter pollutants and let sediment settle rather than magically changing the water's color.

Oh wow, I totally had that backwards in my head. Thanks for clearing that up, I always thought the color change was the whole point of them.
