My neighbor's kid called me out for running the tap while brushing
I was chatting with my 8 year old neighbor last week while she was helping her dad water plants, and she told me I waste 4 gallons every morning by leaving the sink on. She showed me a chart she made at school about water use, and honestly it hit harder coming from a kid than any article I've read. Has anyone else had a moment where a kid made you rethink a simple habit like that?

Yeah I used to be in the same boat as you honestly. Thought since I paid the bill and didn't take long showers it was no big deal. But then my niece showed me this little experiment where she collected the water I wasted for a week and it filled up a whole bucket. That visual of seeing it all in one place really got me. Now I just turn the tap off while I scrub and it's not even an inconvenience.

Why should I feel bad about it? I pay my water bill every month, same as everyone else. That kid's chart probably doesn't factor in that I don't water a lawn or take long showers. My morning routine takes like 3 minutes max. I'm not going to stand there and watch a slow trickle fill my toothbrush cup.
