Lost it at a town hall meeting when someone said solar panels are just a fad

I was at the city council meeting last Tuesday in Wichita, and this guy in a suit said solar is just a phase, which made me interrupt him and explain how my own electric bill dropped 60 bucks a month after I installed mine. Has anyone else had to deal with people who still think renewable energy is some kind of trend?

You handled that better than I would have. It's frustrating when people who probably haven't done any research try to tell you what works on your own house. That 60 dollar savings is real money, and it adds up fast. A lot of folks just repeat what they hear on TV or from their uncle without looking into it themselves. Good for you for speaking up and sharing your actual experience. More people need to hear the truth instead of the noise.

You're saying "good for you for speaking up" but honestly I'm not sure it was that deep. The guy gave some advice, Taylor pushed back, end of story. People act like every little disagreement online is some big stand against ignorance or whatever. It's just paint and siding at the end of the day, not a political debate. The $60 thing is real but let's not pretend Taylor fought some battle for truth here. Some folks just like to make everything feel more dramatic than it needs to be...
